Staff Selection Commission is the organisation to recruit various groups C and D posts in central government departments and its subordinate departments.

Every year SSC releases recruitment notification as per their schedule to conduct written exams and skill tests. Every year large number of candidates registered this application form on official link and appear in examination.

SSC Stenographer: Recently SSC has released the schedule for recruitment notification for the year 2017-18. As per schedule SSC is going to release the notification of SSC stenographer grade C and grade D on 17th June 2017.

SSC stenographer 2017 Application form

Interested and eligible candidates can submit their application online from the official SSC website. Candidates must note that only online applications will be accepted by SSC.
Application fee in respect of online application can be paid through SBI challan/Net banking and any credit and debit cards will be accepted. The application fee is for General
candidates is RS.100/- However SC/ST/Women/Pwd/Ex servicemen are exempted from payment of fees. Application fee paid by you is non refundable.

SSC Stenographer Written exam pattern

After the successful online application process, candidates must start their written examination preparation from day one on wards.
The SSC stenographer exam will consist of 2 stages, a) Written exam b) Stenography skill test.

A. Written exam

The written exam will consist of objective type paper consists of three parts: General awareness, Reasoning, and English.The total marks allotted for the three subjects is 200 marks,
General awareness and reasoning is for 100 marks and English is for 100 marks.There will be negative marks of 0.25 for each wrong answer. Candidates who qualified in written exam will
be called for stenography skill test. The qualifying marks are decided by the Staff selection commission based on the paper level difficulty and number of jobs available and number of candidates attempted for the exam.

B. Shorthand Skill test

The Skill test will be of qualifying nature and the commission will the qualifying standards in the skill test for different categories of candidates. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/Hindi at the speed of 100 WPM for the post of stenographer Grade C and 80 WPM for the post of stenographer Grade D. The matter will have to transcribe on computer. The Transcription time is as follows

For Stenographer Grade D : 50 minutes (English) 65 Minutes (Hindi)

For Stenographer Grade C : 40 Minutes (English) 55 Minutes (Hindi)

SSC Stenographer Educational Qualification

The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognised board or university.

SSC Stenographer Eligibility

Candidates interested in applying the SSC Stenographer grade C and grade D exam will have to fulfil the necessary eligibility as laid down by the SSC.

A candidate must be either:
a. A citizen of India or
b. A subject of Nepal or
c. A subject of Bhutan or
d. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st Jan 1962 with intention of settling in India or
e. A person of India origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the united republic of Tanzania
Zambia, Malawi Zaire Ethiopia and Vietnam with intention of settling in India.

SSC Stenographer Age limit

Candidates should be in between 18 - 27 years as on 01-08-2017 ( candidates born not before 02-08-1980 and not later than 01-08-1999)
Age relaxes for all reserved category candidates as per government rules from time to time.

Pay scale :

Recently the Finance minister has approved to implement the 7th pay commission. As per the pay commission the salary of Stenographers who qualified in final list will be as per below

For Stenographer grade D Level -4 Rs.25,500 -81,100

For Stenographer grade C Level -6 Rs.35,400 -1,12,400

For Stenographer grade C Level -7 Rs.44,900 -1,42,400

Apart from basic pay the selected candidates will get allowance like HRA, DA and transport allowance. In some departments the Stenographer grade C will get salary under level 7 which is 4600 grade pay.

The Candidates who qualify in written exam and skill test will get appointment letter by concern department after the nomination done by the SSC. Allocation of department is done by the SSC based on the merit cum option preference.

Before applying online, candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her recent photograph and signature for uploading as per detailed instructions available on the link for submission of online application.

(vi) The written exam for ASI/Steno will be conducted on the same date at all examination centers. The candidates are advised to submit only single online application for the post of ASI/Steno. More than one application from a candidate shall liable to be rejected. Fees of any amount once submitted will not be returned in any case. 

(vii) After submitting the online application, the candidates are required to take print out of the finally submitted online application and retain the same with them. 

(viii) Candidates need not to submit printouts of their online applications or any other documents to any office of CRPF either by post or by hand. Hard copy/print out of online application along with self attested documents in support of their eligibility required to be submitted as and when called for. 

(ix) The candidates are advised to submit only single online application. However, if somehow, he / she submits multiple online applications, then he/she must ensure that online application with the higher “Application Number” is complete in all respects including fee / intimation and bank charges. The applicants, who submit multiple online applications, should note that only the online application with higher “Application Number” shall be entertained by the CRPF and fee / intimation and bank charges paid against one “Application Number” shall not be adjusted against any other “Application Number”. 

(x) Application once submitted cannot be modified and utmost care should be taken to furnish the correct details before submitting the online application. 12 

(xi) If any candidate filling wrong information in their application form or pasts fake photograph of any other person/celebrity etc., suitable action will be taken against them as per provision of cyber crime IT Act 2000. 

(xii) Candidates are required to keep active their personal Email-ID and the mobile Number during the currency of this recruitment process. The Candidates for their own interest should not give email ID / mobile phone numbers of others. 

(xiii) Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply online much before the closing date and not wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection.

(xiv) The payment of application fee will be made on-line. The receipt of the fees should be preserved and produced at the time of Physical Standard Test (PST) and documentation.

Age LimitMinimum 18 years & Maximum 44 years. The age is reckoned as on 01/07/2017 (Rule- 12(1)(a)(v) of State and Subordinate Service Rules). 

Educational Qualifications:

Applicants must possess the qualifications from a recognized University as detailed below or equivalent thereto, as specified in the relevant Service Rules, indented by the Board as on the Date of Notification

Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University in India with Typewriting Higher Grade and shorthand English Higher / Lower grade in English. If the candidates possessing Short Hand Higher Grade qualification in English are not available, the candidates with Short Hand Lower Grade will be considered. 

FEE: (Remittance of Fee) Each applicant must pay Rs. 200/- (RUPEES TWO HUNDRED ONLY) towards Online Application Processing Fee. This apart, the applicants have to pay RS. 120/- (RUPEES ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY ONLY) towards Examination Fee. However, the following category of candidates belonging to Telangana State only are exempted from payment of Examination fee.

1) The Examination will be held at HYDERABAD (including HMDA Jurisdiction) only or all erstwhile District head quarters. 

2) The Commission reserves the right to allot candidates to any centre other than the centre chosen by the applicant or to abolish / create a new centre for administrative reasons. Request for change of the centre will not be entertained.

I Step: The Candidate has to visit the WEBSITE http://www.tspsc.gov.in and fill the OTR application if not registered earlier to obtain TSPSC ID. While filling the same, the candidates have to ensure that there are no mistakes in it. The Commission bears no responsibility for the mistakes, if any, made by the candidates. 

II STEP: The candidates have to visit the website http://www.tspsc.gov.in to submit Application and Click on the Link with Notification Number and Name, provide TSPSC ID and Date of Birth to proceed further. Candidate has to verify the details as obtained from OTR database and displayed on the screen. If any details are to be changed, candidate should go back to the TSPSC website and use the Edit OTR link. In addition to the details obtained from OTR database, Notification specific details such as Examination Centre opted, required qualification, university details, eligibility and accepting declarations etc. are to be filled by the candidate. Preview and Edit facility is available to make changes and submit for proceeding to Next step of making online payment of fee. 

III STEP:-Immediately on entering the above details, the applicant will get payment gateway of SBI ePay. 

IV STEP:-The applicant should pay the prescribed fee as specified through any of the four modes of payment online. Separate instructions have to be followed for each mode of payment. 

V STEP:-After payment of fee, the PDF Application will be generated which contains the particulars furnished by the candidates. The ID No in the PDF Application form has to be quoted for future reference/correspondence. 

i) Candidate shall note that, the details available with OTR database at the time of submitting the application will be considered for the purpose of this notification. If, any changes are made by the candidate to OTR database at a later date will not be considered for the purpose of this Notification.

HOW TO APPLY :

(c) Candidate should have his/her own/family 'registered' Mobile Number and the same should be kept active during the entire Recruitment Process as SMS alerts for the various Tests are also likely to be sent on the said Mobile Number, registered in the ‘On-line Application’.


(d) Candidate should scan his/her photograph having 5 c.m. of height and 3.6 c.m. of width (10kb) and signature having 2.5 c.m. of height and 7.5 c.m. of width (10kb) in jpg format for uploading the same at relevant space in the On-line Application.


(e) Steps for submitting ‘On-line Application’ through the ‘OJAS’ Module:- 


1) Fill-up all the Fields given in On-line Application including mandatory Fields, carefully. 


2) ‘Save’ the On-line Application, by clicking ‘Save’ button. 


3) Thereafter, a new pop-up window will appear, displaying the ‘Application Number’, meaning thereby the Application is saved successfully. Candidate shall, note down the entire string of the Application Number (e.g. HCG/201516/1/11111). By clicking ‘Show Application Preview’ Button, will display on-screen preview of the Application. 


4) Thereafter, by entering Application Number and Date of Birth, upload scanned photograph and signature at relevant space on the application and ensure that, the uploaded ‘Photograph’ & ‘Signature’, are distinctly recognizable, after uploading. 


5) If necessary, by using his/her Application Number and Date of Birth, a Candidate can edit his/her On-line Application through ‘Edit Application Button’ until his/her Application is Confirmed by the Candidate. 


6) After filling-up all the required/mandatory fields of the On-line Application, correctly and duly verified by the Candidate, he/she is required to ‘CONFIRM’ the Application. However, Candidate ADVERTISEMENT NO. RC/B/1304/2015 & RC/B/1304/2017 Page | 7 of 11 can alter/modify the details before he/she CONFIRM his/her Application. 


7) Please note that, after ‘Confirmation’, further editing of one’s ‘Online Application’ will not be permitted by the System and the same will be treated as Final Application for the particular post. 


8) Thereafter, Candidate has to click on ‘Confirm Application’ Button/Tab on the Main Menu, thereby a pop-up window will appear, wherein the Candidate has to enter his/her Application Number and Date of Birth and then click on ‘Confirm Application’ Button.


9) Please note that only after ‘Confirmation’, the ‘System’ will register candidate’s ‘On-line’ Application. Further, only Confirmed Applications will be considered as valid for the Recruitment Process. 


10) Thereafter, the Candidate should ensure that he/she receives a System generated ‘SMS’ conveying his/her Confirmation Number, on his/her 'registered' Mobile Number. 


11) The Candidate should preserve his/her Application Number and Confirmation Number for future reference and use, till the conclusion of the Recruitment Process. 


12) At the end of the process, the Candidate shall invariably take the ‘Print Out’ of his/ her ‘Confirmed Application’ by clicking ‘Print Application’ Tab in the Main Menu and retain atleast TWO copies of the same for future reference & use. 


13) Please note that the Candidate is not required to and should not send copy of his/her Online-Application and/or any testimonials/ documents to the High Court. They should produce the same, when called for.
